The information from this list comes from the valuable work that all organizations are doing to support our communities in this region. The purpose of this website is to make organizations’ resources, services, and programs accessible for anyone to find and use for their basic needs.

Alliance San Diego

Casa Familiar is the leading service and community development organization in the community of San Ysidro, providing over 40 bilingual programs and services at six different sites in the community.

Karen Organization of San Diego advances educational, civic, & economic opportunities for ethnic groups from Burma (Myanmar) while honoring cultural heritage. Little Saigon Foundation San Diego
At Little Saigon San Diego, we believe social equity and racial equality can be achieved through the sense of belonging. To do this, we revitalize community infrastructure such as buildings, streets, and sidewalk, so that everyone could see their story, take ownership, and become a part of the community. National Center for Conflict and Resolution (NCRC)

North County LGBTQ Resource Center
The North County LGBTQ Resource Center is a 501(c)3 organization that serves the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, and questioning (LGBTQ) community of North County San Diego. Our service area includes the communities of Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, Fallbrook, Camp Pendleton, and other outlying areas. Our mission is to serve, empower, and advocate for North County's diverse LGBTQI community. We envision a community where everyone lives in equality, feeling accepted, valued, safe and free from social stigma.
Operation HOPE – North County
At Operation HOPE-North County, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing safe shelter, vital reosurces, and compassionate support to families and individuals in need. Through empowerment, advocacy, and community collaboration, we help our residents regain stability and build a parth toward self-sufficiency. We envision a region where individuals experiencing homelessness are not defined by their circumstances but are instead embraced with empathy, respect, and the tools to regain their independence.
Outside the Lens
Outside The Lens (OTL) is a San Diego-based nonprofit that inspires young people to become storytellers and changemakers through media arts. Our K-12 and transitional age (18-24) students learn more than technical skills in digital photography, graphic design, filmmaking, and emerging media, they also develop expertise in critical thinking, creative expression, and visual literacy. At Outside The Lens in San Diego, we ignite confidence in young people to pursue creative pathways and drive social change through the transformative power of media arts.

Somali Bantu Association of America
The Somali Bantu Association of America (SBAOA) is a nonprofit organization created in 2009 as a resource for refugee families seeking to adjust to their new lives in the United States; the Somali Bantu Association of America educates, serves, and organizes cultural and life-skill training programs in an effort to promote self-sufficiency among the individuals and families comprising not only the Somali Bantu community but all East African refugees in and around City Heights including Somalis, Congolese, Burundian, Ugandan, Sudanese and other immigrants. Our clients include men and women, children, and seniors, and our services are free.

Community-based social service organization that provides culturally and linguistically appropriate programs and services to underserved refugee and immigrant communities in Southern California and Minnesota. Somali Family Service, guided by its community champions, empowers immigrants, refugees, and other underserved communities in San Diego through its programs that promote health, educational and economic success, and leadership development. The San Diego LGBT Community Center
The San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center is one of the largest and most vibrant LGBTQ+ community centers in the nation. The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ+ community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities to the betterment of our entire San Diego region.
Trans Family Support Services
TransFamily Support Services guide transgender/non-binary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process to help make it the most positive experience possible. We provide family coaching, assistance with healthcare and insurance issues, help navigating the legal system, and support at schools. All services are provided at no fee.
transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project
transcenDANCE is a nationally-recognized Creative Youth Development organization that works with youth in under resourced San Diego communities. Our programs change the trajectory of students’​ lives by building resilience, confidence, and creativity and by instilling life-changing skills such as leadership, collaboration, and community engagement. Our mission at transcenDANCE is to provide equitable access to dance and performance, and holistic wraparound services, for young people from marginalized communities. We support youth as they transcend barriers, recognize their own potential and power, and create positive change for themselves, their families, and their communities.
