Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts)

Pacific Arts Movement presents Asian and Asian American Pacific Islander media arts to San Diego residents and visitors in order to inspire, entertain, and support a more compassionate society.
Outside the Lens

Outside The Lens (OTL) is a San Diego-based nonprofit that inspires young people to become storytellers and changemakers through media arts. Our K-12 and transitional age (18-24) students learn more than technical skills in digital photography, graphic design, filmmaking, and emerging media, they also develop expertise in critical thinking, creative expression, and visual literacy. At Outside The Lens in San Diego, we ignite confidence in young people to pursue creative pathways and drive social change through the transformative power of media arts.
The San Diego LGBT Community Center

The San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center is one of the largest and most vibrant LGBTQ+ community centers in the nation. The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ+ community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities to the betterment of our entire San Diego region.

Somali Bantu Association of America

The Somali Bantu Association of America (SBAOA) is a nonprofit organization created in 2009 as a resource for refugee families seeking to adjust to their new lives in the United States; the Somali Bantu Association of America educates, serves, and organizes cultural and life-skill training programs in an effort to promote self-sufficiency among the individuals and families comprising not only the Somali Bantu community but all East African refugees in and around City Heights including Somalis, Congolese, Burundian, Ugandan, Sudanese and other immigrants. Our clients include men and women, children, and seniors, and our services are free.
transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project

This workshop is an interactive, experiential learning course centered on the inherent dignity of all people. Participants will learn about bringing human rights home to the US and discuss personal experiences in relation to self worth, respect, and empathy. Participants will leave with action steps to get more involved in their communities, tools to facilitate future discussions on dignity and human rights, and a network of organizations and individuals dedicated to creating an inclusive democracy.
Start with Dignity has now also produced 3 different Common Core certified modules for educators to use in classroom on how to integrate dignity and human rights into their teaching.

The Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC) is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides a comprehensive array of health and human services programming dedicated to improving the overall well-being of San Diego’s underserved communities. The mission of the Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC) is to strengthen and empower the diverse, underserved and vulnerable communities of San Diego. We provide person-centered, holistic services prioritizing culture and ethnic identity to enhance the overall health, well-being and self-sufficiency of those served.
