The Affirmative Immigration Services Program provides quality, free legal services to lower-income individuals living in the San Diego area seeking to obtain certain types of immigration benefits for themselves or their family members living in the United States.
Serves low-income families defined as 80% of the San Diego County AMI.

Does NOT provide services for: Immigration court; Business, student, or tourist visa matters; Petitions for family members who are outside of the United States.
IMPORTANT: If you currently have an immigration court date, if you or a family member is being detained by ICE, you will NOT be able to make an appointment with this link. Instead, call (858) 637-3365 or email immigration@jfssd.org.
Higher Education Legal Services (HELS) provides FREE immigration legal services to students, staff, and faculty at San Diego and Imperial County community and state colleges. Highly qualified legal practitioners provide culturally competent, trauma-informed, legal expertise to the campus community.
Students, staff and faculty of all California State Universities and California Community Colleges in the San Diego and Imperial Valley regions. Campuses are listed here. Dual enrollment high school students and students taking classes in adult education through one of these community college systems are also eligible. At the California State University campuses – San Diego State University and Cal State San Marcos – immediate relatives of students, staff and faculty (spouse, parents, children, and siblings) are also eligible. Students continue to be able to receive HELS services for two years after graduation.
