Trans Family Support Services

TransFamily Support Services guide transgender/non-binary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process to help make it the most positive experience possible. We provide family coaching, assistance with healthcare and insurance issues, help navigating the legal system, and support at schools. All services are provided at no fee.

This vision is reached through fostering self-sufficiency, building healthy communities, and promoting equity.

Pillars of the Community is an organization where community members come together to learn about one another, foster relationships, and mobilize for community change and social justice. transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project

transcenDANCE is a nationally-recognized Creative Youth Development organization that works with youth in under resourced San Diego communities. Our programs change the trajectory of students’​ lives by building resilience, confidence, and creativity and by instilling life-changing skills such as leadership, collaboration, and community engagement. Our mission at transcenDANCE is to provide equitable access to dance and performance, and holistic wraparound services, for young people from marginalized communities. We support youth as they transcend barriers, recognize their own potential and power, and create positive change for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Somali Bantu Association of America

The Somali Bantu Association of America (SBAOA) is a nonprofit organization created in 2009 as a resource for refugee families seeking to adjust to their new lives in the United States; the Somali Bantu Association of America educates, serves, and organizes cultural and life-skill training programs in an effort to promote self-sufficiency among the individuals and families comprising not only the Somali Bantu community but all East African refugees in and around City Heights including Somalis, Congolese, Burundian, Ugandan, Sudanese and other immigrants. Our clients include men and women, children, and seniors, and our services are free.
